Privacy Policy

AI Translate is built privacy-first. Everyday translations run entirely on your device. When — and only when — you choose a cloud engine or the AI tab, the content you submit is sent to a named third-party AI provider to produce that result, after you grant permission in the app. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, who we send it to, why, and how to delete it.
What stays on your device
Text typed for translation, voice recordings, photographs used for OCR, and your translation history are stored locally on your iPhone or Android device. The default on-device engines (Apple/Android translation, speech recognition, and vision) never transmit this data over the network.
What we send to third-party AI services — only with your permission
The first time you use a cloud engine or the AI tab, the app shows an in-app disclosure and asks for your permission before sending anything. If you agree, the specific content you submit for that feature — the text, audio, or image — is sent to the relevant third-party AI provider listed below to generate the result. Most requests go directly to the provider's API; voice transcription is relayed through our secure Firebase Cloud Function. We do not retain your submitted content on our own servers after the result is returned. Each provider processes your content only to return that result and under its own privacy policy; we share data only with providers that offer comparable data protection. You can decline and keep using the app fully with on-device engines, and change the choice anytime in Settings → AI data sharing.

If you sign in
Sign-in is optional and only required to restore Premium across devices, sync history to the cloud, and contact support. We store: your sign-in identifier, display name, email, and Premium entitlement status. We do not see or store your password.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, Vietnam PDPL)
You can access, correct, export, or delete your account and data at any time. See the Delete Account page for the in-app and email request flow. Requests are processed within 24 hours.
Children
AI Translate is rated 4+ / Everyone. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the local equivalent). The app contains no chat, contact, or user-generated content features — there is no way for a child to communicate with strangers through AI Translate.
Changes to this policy
We will notify you in-app and via the Updated date above when this policy changes materially. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
